Product Designer

Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Salary Range: $71, 000 - $77, 000

Position Overview:
We’re seeking a Product Designer with experience in U.S. Defense programs to design and develop components and systems for military vehicles. This role involves creating prototypes, supporting manufacturing processes, and collaborating across teams to deliver cutting-edge designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, packaging, and kinematic analyses.
  • Collaborate on Bill of Materials (BOM) management and design reviews.
  • Troubleshoot design issues and support process improvements.
  • Apply industry standards, including GD&T, ASME, and MBD practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Product Design (e.G., Mechanical, Aerospace, or Automotive) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years in product design and development for U.S. Defense programs.
  • Proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric or similar CAD tools.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) processes and standards.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET U.S. Defense clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with 3D printing and materials (e.G., steel, aluminum).
  • Knowledge of German is a plus.
