Product Designer
Job Description
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Salary Range: $71K–$77K
Job Summary:
We’re seeking a Product Designer to contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge military combat vehicles. This role involves creating and managing CAD designs, conducting feasibility studies, and supporting system integration. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience in product design and development for U.S. Defense programs.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage CAD designs, 3D components, and 2D drawings.
- Perform packaging, feasibility, and kinematic studies.
- Manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and support engineering changes.
- Troubleshoot design issues and support prototype and production builds.
- Adhere to industry standards like GD&T and ASME.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in design reviews.
- Education: AS in Product Design (Mechanical, Structural, Aerospace, or similar).
- Experience: 5+ years in product design for U.S. Defense programs;proficiency in CAD tools (PTC Creo preferred).
- Familiarity with U.S. DoD processes and military standards.
- Ability to obtain a SECRET U.S. Defense clearance.
- BS in Engineering and/or German language skills.
- Experience with 3D printing and materials like steel and aluminum.
