Product Engineer Components
This position is in the Global Core Engineering group in the Powertrain Cooling department. While knowledge of cooling system and coolant bottle design will be strongly considered, the department is looking for an individual that has a proven history in the areas of building strong supplier relationships, task prioritization, time management, clear and concise communication skills as well as interests in technical details. All commodity specific training will be given as needed. Position Duties: - Support global application engineering teams in preparing quote packages for new programs. - Develop and deploy commodity specific training on Design Rules and Engineering Specs to external suppliers and internal application engineers - Support global application engineering teams in DV and PV testing reviews. - Provide component level expertise and guidance to engineering teams, globally. - Work with Technical Specialists to maintain core foundation documents such as component drawing guide files, engineering specifications and statements of work. - Manage supplier production quality issues to limit impact to Ford production plants and field service. - Support efforts to organize catalogs of standard parts by working cross-functionally with CAD teams and suppliers. - Support discussions on Warranty data, root cause analysis and supplier chargeback. - Review and provide input on supplier requests for engineering approvals. - Manage Vehicle Operations interface associated with coolant fill. - Collaboratively develop new technology to support future product demands. - Continually lead the evolution of the core team by identifying opportunities for efficiency and productivity.
- Knowledge of automotive powertrain cooling systems designs and characteristics.
- Automotive hose design and release experience.
- Knowledge of cooling hose construction and hose connection methods. - Experience with Tier 1 and Tier 2 hose suppliers
- Experience with calibration guide files.
- Knowledge of Analytical Warranty System (AWS).
- Experience with purchasing teams and sourcing strategies.
1-5 years experience with injection molding
1-5 years automotive experience
-Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related field
Matt started with Contract Professionals, Inc. in November 2014. He began as a Technical Recruiter assigned to the automotive team. He worked hand in hand with account managers, to spearhead specific projects with CPI's clients. Driven to succeed, Matt achieved his goal(s) within the first year. He continued working on accounts and he learned the leadership process throughout his 4-year career at CPI.
When the opportunity presented itself, he was promoted to Account Manager of the automotive division. He navigates the challenges in this new role by utilizing the senior staff in the office.
Matt was awarded a Bachelor of Art in Environmental Studies at University of Michigan. Matt also received an Associate degree in Automotive Mechanics from a local community college.
Matt is thriving as a new Account Manager at CPI, and he looks forward to the challenges that await him in the workforce solutions industry.
