Position Description:
A career opportunity in Powertrain Product Development is available to utilize & display your business acumen, engineering skills and leadership. Powertrain Architecture and Emissions Systems Integration design engineers are responsible for selecting and integrating powertrain systems into our future vehicles and mobility solutions that deliver intended vehicle attributes and meet global emissions regulations. You will be exposed to all aspects of the propulsion business (ICE, xHEV and BEV) and have the opportunity to work on our latest Performance products to deliver bulletproof quality, performance and economy. Systemic thinking, intense customer focus, emotional intelligence and solid written and oral communication skills are required.
Skills Preferred:
" Lead Pre System Engineering for New Technologies o Identify or become system/feature owner for new powertrain technologies. Deliver system to enable robust transition from R&A GTDS to GPDS QOS. O Utilize Attachment C process to assess and choose from multiple technical solutions. O Strive for enterprise system optimization above home organization. O Use CAE methods and system design tools (e.G. SysML, SEED, etc.) to assess system interactions and new failure modes. O Work with core technical / R&A teams to ensure sufficient CAE is available or underdevelopment to support pre PSC. Plan effective and comprehensive CAE tool transition plan to forward model. O Support competitive benchmarking including networking with core specialists, R&A and technical leaders. Plan to build 360 view of competitive system strategies. " Understand Modular Architecture Catalog content and Fitness Initiatives " Audit catalog content to identify EPLM Quality, Cost, Weight and Functional (QCWF) gaps " Understand and sustain Powertrain module Application Program Interfaces (APIs). These consist of aligned Requirements, Function, Logic and Physical (RFLP) interfaces.
Experience Required:
Experience using CATIA for part modeling, assemblies, & detailing tools
Experience Preferred:
Powertrain, global emissions regulations, aftertreatment solutions and systems engineering knowledge
Education Required:
Bachelors in Engineering
Education Preferred:
Masters in Engineering, Business or Computer Science
