Position Description:
A career opportunity in Powertrain Product Development is available to utilize & display your business acumen, engineering skills and leadership. Powerpack Systems Integration design engineers are responsible for global catalog offerings, upgrade plans and integration into our future vehicle architectures that deliver intended vehicle attributes and meet global regulations. You will be exposed to all aspects of Ford' s propulsion business (ICE, xHEV and BEV) and have the opportunity to work on our latest Ford, Lincoln and Performance products to deliver bulletproof quality, performance and economy. Systemic thinking, intense customer focus, emotional intelligence and solid written and oral communication skills are required.
Skills Preferred:
PP Emissions Systems Development o Support Emissions PATs of cross-functional experts (e.G., R&A, EPLM, PCCN, PTI Exhaust) to plan and develop Powerpack Ring 1 technology to support global Emissions Phase In Plan (EPIP). O Utilize Product Design Space (PDS) process as quick go, no go for package envelope. Collaborate with PT Functions to enable compaction of hardware as required. O Support safety assessment of Powerpack Ring 1 Aftertreatment System (ATS) recommendations across all known applications and sales regions; cycle plan (CP) and high priority studies. O PP Strategic Compaction – work with Functions to incorporate new content within existing package envelope. Lead Pre System Engineering for New Technologies o Identify or become system/feature owner for new powertrain technologies. Deliver system to enable robust transition from R&A GTDS to GPDS QOS. O Utilize Attachment C process to assess and choose from multiple technical solutions. O Use CAE methods and system design tools (e.G. SysML, SEED, etc.) to assess system interactions and new failure modes. O Work with core technical / R&A teams to ensure sufficient CAE is available or underdevelopment to support pre PSC.
Experience Required:
May be new graduate or experienced engineer
Experience Preferred:
o Experience using CATIA for part modeling, assemblies, & detailing tools
o Powertrain, global emissions regulations, aftertreatment solutions and systems engineering knowledge
o Business acumen and effective communication skills
Education Required:
o Bachelors in Engineering
o Fluent in English language – reading & oral comprehension, writing & speaking effectively
o Customer centered
o Self-motivated, driven and effective either leading or supporting teams o Flexible – open to continuous learning, improvement and change
o Resilient – willing to accept coaching and adjust
o Able to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines
Education Preferred:
o Masters in Engineering, Business or Computer Science
