Job Title: Product Owner (SAFe) –Embedded Software
Location: Fort Wayne, IN (Onsite)
Position Type: Contract
Pay Rate: Up to $54.00/hr.

Position Overview
Contract Professionals, Inc. Is seeking a technical Product Owner (SAFe) to support embedded software development programs within a defense engineering environment. This role drives backlog ownership, product prioritization, and Agile execution for mission-critical embedded systems supporting RF, GPS, and navigation technologies.

Key Responsibilities
•Define and prioritize product requirements in collaboration with engineering and program stakeholders
•Own and manage the product backlog aligned with business and technical objectives
•Lead participation in SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews
•Translate technical concepts into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
•Partner with embedded software teams to ensure execution alignment
•Monitor sprint progress and adjust priorities to meet delivery milestones
•Continuously incorporate stakeholder feedback to improve product outcomes

Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field
•5+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years
•2–3 years of experience in a Product Owner role within a technical environment
•Strong understanding of SAFe principles and Agile frameworks
•Proficiency in C, C++, and C#
•Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
•Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance
•U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
•Experience supporting embedded systems or embedded software development programs
•Knowledge of RF, GPS, or navigation system integration
•SAFe certification or formal SAFe training
•Strong software development lifecycle knowledge
•Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Work Environment
Onsite role located in Fort Wayne, IN.
