We are seeking an individual with significant experience implementing controls systems in Assembly plants . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Rockwell PLC' s, HMI' s, VFD' s and AVS, FIS and controls systems, especially in the paint shop. As a member of the Paint Core Engineering team, you will be will be responsible for the integration of paint controls systems including FIS, AVS, Conveyor and process controls, along with interfacing with manufacturing and plant systems IT. Candidate will also be responsible for developing and improving existing and new process and equipment controls and monitoring specifications for the design, specification, installation and launch of electrical/controls systems to improve current and future vehicle programs and manufacturing processes. Candidate will work with vendor controls engineers to install, test, and debug standard controls systems. He/she may also direct the efforts of others, including agency personnel or third-party controls integrators. Although most PLC code and modules are developed and installed by vendors, the candidate may need to create custom PLC code for unique situations or modify code to address issues identified by others. Assignments may be in support of programs at any of the vehicle assembly plants worldwide.
Ability to oversee Electrical Contractors, Vendors, and Plant Skilled Trades, Provide Technical Oversight for the Automation Engineers & Support Personnel. Assist in problem resolution and troubleshooting of plant floor electrical and controls.
5+ years of experience with Allen-Bradly PLC5 and ControlLogix in an manufacturing environment
5+ years of experience with Installation, Implementation, and Integration of manufacturing plant floor controls systems in Assembly plants .
Engineering Degree or equivalent 10+ years controls experience
Must be willing to travel to support implementation and launches
Matt started with Contract Professionals, Inc. in November 2014. He began as a Technical Recruiter assigned to the automotive team. He worked hand in hand with account managers, to spearhead specific projects with CPI's clients. Driven to succeed, Matt achieved his goal(s) within the first year. He continued working on accounts and he learned the leadership process throughout his 4-year career at CPI.
When the opportunity presented itself, he was promoted to Account Manager of the automotive division. He navigates the challenges in this new role by utilizing the senior staff in the office.
Matt was awarded a Bachelor of Art in Environmental Studies at University of Michigan. Matt also received an Associate degree in Automotive Mechanics from a local community college.
