Location: Wixom, MI

Salary: $80, 000 - $90, 000 (Depending on Experience)

Our client, an industry leader in closures hardware systems, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Quality Engineer to join their Quality Assurance team.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Customer Quality Assurance
  • Experience in interacting with Automotive OEM customers in AQP, PPAP, and quality issues
  • Working knowledge of Automotive OEM's specific customer requirements is a plus
  • Familiarity with Basic Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Minitab is a plus
  • Familiarity with the requirements of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 (Auditor Training is a plus)
  • Proficiency in English;German and Spanish language skills are a plus
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and direct activities related to the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products for assigned customer program(s).
  • Assume the lead for all Quality Assurance functions for the assigned program(s).
  • Actively participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and ensure completion of all Quality Department tasks for specific programs.
  • Coordinate activities and compile information for PPAP submissions.
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Devise sampling procedures and design forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality.
  • Maintain a monthly customer concerns report, update Paynter Charts, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with established methods and procedures for the disposition of discrepant material and devise methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Interact with customers on quality issues, attending both virtual and onsite customer meetings as required.
  • Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Actively participate in Problem Solving/Root Cause Analysis and write Quality Corrective Action Plans in 8-D format.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience working with FORD is a plus.
  • Customer-specific requirements for each task are based on the specific task assigned and reviewed by the manager prior to job assignment.
