Quality Auditor/Trainer (2nd shift)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Auditor/Trainer to support and strengthen its quality system while ensuring consistent inspection and training practices throughout production. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching others, maintaining quality standards, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday
Pay: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire
Key Responsibilities
- Train new and existing inspection personnel on quality standards and inspection procedures
- Perform inspections of incoming raw materials and finished products
- Conduct in-process and dock audits of inspectors'work
- Approve or reject work based on audit findings
- Provide feedback and communicate quality requirements to inspection personnel
- Document audit results and maintain quality records and reports
- Assist with retention and organization of approved quality samples
- Interpret and apply inspection requirements for a variety of products
- Verify part identification, packaging, and labeling requirements
- Communicate with suppliers regarding quality concerns as needed
- Perform gauging and measurement of incoming and outgoing product
- Support compliance with ISO 9001 QMS and ISO 14001 EMS standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
- Previous quality inspection, auditing, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Basic computer and math skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively train and coach others
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment that may become warm and humid
- Close-toed shoes are required in production areas
- Ability to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds as needed
