Job Description


Our client, a leader in the industrial sector, is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will support the Quality department in developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards for industrial processes and materials. This position will involve a variety of tasks to ensure compliance and excellence.

Location: Plymouth, MI
Compensation: $18-22/hr + benefits (direct hire, 1st shift)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Technical background and ability to read blueprints
  • Participate in creating and implementing methods for handling discrepant material and assessing cost and responsibility.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • Assist in corrective and preventative actions to resolve issues with customers, suppliers, and production.
  • Create and maintain documentation such as ballooned drawings, part specifications, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Participate in Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as assigned.
  • Manage record retention and dispose of obsolete files as needed.
  • Maintain and monitor Quality-mandated calendar activities, KPIs, and audit schedules.
  • Support Quality meetings and track open issues.
  • Assist with office supply management and special visitor arrangements.
  • Support continuous improvement activities and data collection.
  • Follow quality and environmental policies, including knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001 standards.
  • Follow safety procedures and protocols, including proper use of PPE.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, Excel 
  • Strong written communication skills.

Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach.
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
