Job Description
Location: Slidell, LA (On-site, 2-year position)
Salary Range: $95, 000 - $110, 000
Role Overview:
The Quality Engineer drives process improvement and ensures product quality during rapid business growth. This role focuses on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes, supplier collaboration, and manufacturing support to meet stringent quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead APQP processes, including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Oversee quality assurance in new product development and manufacturing.
- Conduct inspections and quality testing throughout production.
- Collaborate with suppliers to complete and approve PPAP submissions.
- Develop and document new business processes to enhance the quality system.
- Apply problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa) and statistical methods to identify and resolve issues.
- Support manufacturing at supplier facilities and participate in supplier program reviews.
- Lead process improvement initiatives for continuous enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent (10+ years of experience in lieu of degree).
- Experience:
- 5+ years in manufacturing and leadership roles.
- Knowledge of quality standards (AS9100D/IATF16949/ISO9001).
- Familiarity with APQP, AS9145, and DoD vehicle development processes.
- Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- Hands-on, solution-focused mindset.
Working Conditions:
- Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Travel up to 10%, including occasional international travel.
