Job Description
Location: Onsite- Plymouth, MI
Salary: $95K -110K Our client is a Woman-Owned Small Business, specializes in supplying stamped and fabricated products, prototypes, tools, and designs across various industries, with a primary focus on automotive and military sectors.
About The Position: As the Quote/Estimator Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing quotes on metal fabrications, weldments, machining, and prototypes by establishing Bill of Materials (BOM). Collaborate with sales, engineering, and cross-functional teams to develop competitive pricing analysis and financial scenarios for internal decision-making and external customer quotes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate costed BOMs, analyze quotations, and prepare complete cost analyses.
- Review labor, material, and engineering estimates before submission.
- Collaborate with the purchasing group to issue RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct make-or-buy analysis for potential new business quotations.
- Verify accuracy of quotes before submission to customers.
- Provide profitability and capacity analysis to executive management.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree 5 years or equivalent experience.
- Experience as an Estimator or Quoting Engineer in steel fabrications, machining, etc.
- Familiarity with multiple markets (commercial, transportation, defense, aerospace) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD software (e.G., SolidWorks, Creo), and quoting software (preferred).
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
