SIL Manager
Job Description
The role is within the Vehicle Electronics and Software Team as the SIL Manager in Sterling Heights, MI, responsible for establishing test and integration capability within the labs, creating test plans and test cases enabling the execution of hardware-software integration, test and verification.
Essential Functions
- Manage and supervise test and verification installations and team, including internal or external partners.
- Lead the development and execution of hardware infrastructure in integration labs to facilitate software test and verification.
- Plan and execute software test and verification activities, reviewing requirements specifications for testability and leveraging use cases in support of test case development.
- Manage the development of automated and manual tests, ensuring complete test coverage.
- Identify and diagnose software defects, verifying software correctness, and reporting results.
- Develop test plans, procedures, descriptions, and reports for delivery to the customer.
- Support and adhere to all company safety and environmental regulations & policies.
Yes - integration, test & verification SMEs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with NI and/or dSPACE tool suites for automated test procedures.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and logic analyzers.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical interfaces and writing test scripts (C, C++, Python).
- Familiarity with US DoD ground vehicle requirements.
- Ability to present technical solutions and communicate effectively across various settings.
- Must be able to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance.
- Education: BSc in Engineering (e.G., Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Systems, Software, Aerospace, Automotive).
- 10+ years in software verification, hardware-in-the-loop, or technology integration experience.
- Experience preparing software verification artifacts for a Test Readiness Review (TRR).
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Integration Lab Scheduler tools.
- Must meet company standards for background check, employment verification, and controlled substance testing.
- Physical testing experience.
- HIL/SIL experience.
- Ability to speak German desired.
- MSc in Engineering desired.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
