Senior Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Engineer
Location: Manassas, VA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

Are you an experienced DSP Software Engineer ready to take on complex challenges in undersea sensor systems? This role offers the opportunity to design and implement cutting-edge algorithms that directly support mission-critical applications. You’ll collaborate with a talented team of engineers while leading efforts that drive innovation in signal processing technology.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize DSP algorithms and software for undersea sensor applications
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate DSP solutions into embedded systems
  • Analyze and optimize DSP algorithm performance for demanding undersea environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DSP software and systems
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Stay up to date with advancements in DSP technologies and undersea sensor systems
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and testing to ensure high-quality deliverables
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 8+ years of DSP software development experience (or Master’s degree + 6 years)
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance (required at time of hire)
  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
  • Strong proficiency in C++ programming
  • Hands-on experience with DSP algorithm development and optimization
  • Proficiency with MATLAB or similar tools
  • Knowledge of signal processing theory and techniques
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded development
  • Background in submarine or surface ship sonar systems
  • Knowledge of underwater acoustics and sonar systems
  • Familiarity with AI/ML techniques applied to signal processing
  • Experience with oceanographic data analysis and modeling

  • This position is fully on-site in Manassas, VA
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work
