Senior Advanced Software Engineer
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hours: 40 hrs/week, Mon–Fri
Pay Range: Competitive, based on experience
About the Role
You will join a cross-functional team developing and delivering complex, mission-critical systems in a Linux environment. This role allows you to lead embedded software development, work with advanced C++/Qt interfaces, and contribute to innovative solutions that support critical customer missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software in a Linux environment
- Design and implement Qt/C++ user interfaces and drivers for COTS devices and FPGAs
- Apply technical standards and methodologies to solve complex software challenges
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, mission-critical system delivery
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
- Participate in the full software development life cycle, from requirements to deployment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field (Master’s + experience also accepted)
- 8+ years of software development experience (6+ years with Master’s degree)
- Proficiency in embedded Linux software development and Qt/C++ UI design
- Experience with drivers and interfaces to COTS devices and FPGAs
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with optics and RF devices
- Proven track record of leading software development projects
- Ability to provide technical guidance and secure buy-in on concepts and ideas
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
