Satellite Systems Engineer –Space Force Golden Dome
Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Scottsdale, AZ

About the Role
As a Satellite Systems Engineer supporting our client’s Space Force Golden Dome program, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for missile tracking and defense initiatives. This position allows you to contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced space and ground systems supporting national security missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct requirements analysis and decompose into physical, functional, and logical views

  • Lead system-level architecture decomposition and interface definition

  • Develop and analyze Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) to drive mission effectiveness, segment budgets, and system tradeoffs

  • Perform probabilistic analysis for space/ground systems and manage associated workbooks

  • Coordinate mission performance system design within an MBSE model

  • Define and manage interface development based on mission-derived TPMs

  • Support Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) satellite-to-ground systems

  • Drive Interface Control Document (ICD) development and coordination for space missions

  • Collaborate with multiple customers to deliver common solutions

  • Contribute to space mission design and architecture across sensing, communication, payload management, and mission data processing

  • Lead system design change management, system threads, and CONOPs development

  • Manage flight dynamics activities including collision avoidance, station keeping, orbit insertion, de-orbit, and LEOPs support

  • Apply orbit determination methods and space-to-ground contact planning

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field

  • 8+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s degree plus 6 years)

  • Agile development experience preferred

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Experience in MBSE and requirements management

  • Familiarity with space/ground system architecture, flight dynamics, and TT&C systems

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with MBSE tools such as MagicDraw

  • Familiarity with enterprise interfaces (gRPC, Kafka, REST, SNMP) and cloud architectures

  • Knowledge of CCSDS protocol and IP networking

  • Experience with OpenC3, Freeflyer, or Meridian

  • Knowledge of RF and optical space communications

  • Operational experience with space constellation systems

  • Experience in anomaly support, constellation design, and automated workflows

  • Prior MDA program experience
