Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Remote, Hybrid, or On-Site)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hours: 40 hrs/week
Pay Range: $95.27/hour

About the Role
Join our client’s dynamic engineering team supporting the Space Force Golden Dome initiative. As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in missile tracking and defense systems, with an emphasis on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and architecture for space and ground systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape advanced system architectures that directly support national security missions.
Key Responsibilities
·Develop and manage system architectures using MBSE tools
·Perform requirements analysis and decompose into physical, functional, and logical views
·Define architecture interfaces and system-level technical performance measures (TPMs)
·Coordinate system design within MBSE models
·Create and manage probabilistic analysis workbooks for space-ground systems
·Define and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
·Collaborate with stakeholders to drive a unified system architecture
·Support system thread design and develop CONOPS
·Participate in design change management and coordination
Required Qualifications
·Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field (Science, Engineering, or Mathematics)
·8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience
·U.S. Citizenship required (security clearance eligibility)
·Strong background in systems engineering and architecture
·Agile experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
·Experience with space/ground system architecture and satellite systems
·Strong MBSE expertise (MagicDraw preferred)
·Knowledge of Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C)
·Familiarity with flight dynamics, orbit management, and collision avoidance
·Experience in space mission design (sensing, communications, payload)
·Knowledge of enterprise interfaces (e.G., gRPC, Kafka, REST, SNMP)
·Familiarity with cloud systems, data archiving, and CCSDS protocol
·Tools experience: Freeflyer, Meridian, OpenC3, IP networking
·Experience supporting spacecraft anomalies and trending analysis
·Leadership in systems engineering teams and Agile development
·Cross-company collaboration and MDA (Missile Defense Agency) program experience
·Strong documentation and communication skills
·Deep knowledge of both RF and optical space communications
