Senior Engineering Support Specialist –Weapons Launcher Test Engineer
Manassas, VA
Up to $46/hour
Position Overview
Seeking a Weapons Launcher Test Engineer to support testing, integration, and evaluation of submarine combat systems including the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator (MTWS). This role supports laboratory and shipboard testing for mission-critical submarine weapon launch systems used by U.S. And allied naval forces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support test, integration, and evaluation of submarine weapons launcher systems

  • Develop and execute test procedures and validation activities

  • Perform verification and validation (V&V) for hardware, software, and firmware updates

  • Conduct system installations, testing, and troubleshooting in lab and operational environments

  • Utilize electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters

  • Identify and document system defects and support root cause resolution

  • Assist with system configuration, lab setup, and test event execution

  • Support installation and operational procedure development

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or related field, OR

  • 4 years of equivalent technical experience

  • 2+ additional years of relevant experience, OR

  • Master’s degree in related field

Must have experience with one of the following systems:

  • AN/BLQ-10

  • AN/BYG-1

  • AN/BQQ-10

  • Submarine Weapon Launcher systems

Clearance Requirement

  • Active DoD Secret clearance required at time of hire

  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with submarine combat systems or naval platforms

  • Knowledge of network configurations and system troubleshooting

  • Experience supporting defense test events or system integration activities

  • Familiarity with software testing and system diagnostics

Work Environment

  • Fully onsite –Manassas, VA

  • Occasional travel to test sites and submarine home ports may be required
