Senior Mobility Engineer

$78–$83/hour
Position Overview
Seeking a Senior Mobility Engineer to lead design and release of Full Up Powerpack (FUPP) components for advanced ground combat vehicle powertrains. This role supports development of conventional, hybrid-electric, and fully electric systems, with a strong focus on modeling & simulation and system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design & release of powerpack components and subsystems
- Evaluate engine, transmission, e-machine (MGU), cooling, and drivetrain configurations
- Develop and support powertrain architectures (conventional & electrified)
- Perform modeling & simulation (torque blending, fuel efficiency, range optimization)
- Build thermal and multi-domain powertrain models (engine, battery, electronics)
- Support Battery Management System (BMS) modeling
- Interface with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Support program milestones, design reviews, and technical reporting
- Develop and release Technical Data Packages (TDPs)
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in automotive or heavy-duty vehicle systems
Key Skills
- MATLAB/Simulink modeling & simulation (required)
- Teamcenter PLM (required)
- CREO or similar CAD tools
- Experience with powertrain integration and system design
- Strong analytical and subsystem sizing skills
- Experience with multi-domain modeling and simulation tools
Preferred Experience
- Military ground vehicle experience
- Powertrain electrification (hybrid/electric vehicles)
- GD&T knowledge
- Experience developing engineering toolsets and simulations
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills

- Onsite –Sterling Heights, MI
