Senior Platform Cybersecurity Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Employment Type: Contract | Hours: 40 hrs/week
Pay Range: $69.81 –$81.08 per hour

About the Role
As a Senior Platform Cybersecurity Engineer, you will lead and manage the integration of cyber architecture, technology, evaluation, testing, and compliance across ground combat platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure a balanced, integrated, and compliant cyber design across vehicle systems, while supporting the delivery of advanced products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exercise authority and responsibility for cyber tasks across platform programs, ensuring compliance and integration.

  • Develop, manage, and enforce system requirements, interface allocations, and SWaP-CRaM compliance across designs.

  • Coordinate system architectures, designs, and trade studies for cyber vehicle suites.

  • Lead design reviews, integration troubleshooting, RCCA, and problem report resolution.

  • Develop verification plans and oversee execution, including test and field shakedowns.

  • Evaluate new cyber and C5ISR technologies for potential platform adoption.

  • Manage peer reviews and ensure compliance with federal regulations and standards.

  • Support the development of a cyber security culture across the engineering organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, related science, or equivalent;cyber technical certificates considered.

  • 10+ years’experience in engineering, military, or cybersecurity projects.

  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML, embedded systems, and cyber-physical system security.

  • Knowledge of Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) and Cyber Tabletop Exercises (CTTX).

  • Experience developing and managing system-level cyber requirements and security plans (SSPs, POA&Ms).

  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, military vehicle integration, and electronic hardware troubleshooting.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and technical project management skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% (domestic and limited international).

  • U.S. Citizenship required;eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with offensive/defensive cyber warfare.

  • Familiarity with embedded automotive and military systems.

  • Understanding of electrical line-replaceable units and their integration.

  • Experience with software engineering principles in C, C++, or similar languages.

Additional Details

  • Must be able to climb on/off, work in, and around military vehicles;pass ASR test if required.
