Software Configuration Engineer

Job Description

Role Overview:
  • The Software Configuration Engineer will be involved in the building and configuration management of ground combat vehicle software. They will ensure proper implementation of software changes, prevent issues introduced during the build and release process, update documentation for each change, and maintain software configuration control.

Hybrid/Onsite Requirement:
  • This role may require up to 90% onsite presence due to the nature of the work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing software build requests and instructions.
  • Developing and maintaining software build scripts.
  • Creating formal software products based on build documentation.
  • Collaborating with developers to address build issues.
  • Generating software release media.
  • Conducting configuration management audits to ensure proper storage and documentation.
  • Establishing and managing an SCM library/repository for software baselines.
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives related to SCM.
  • Supporting certification audits related to SCM processes.
  • Providing status reports to management.
  • Liaising with other departments and business units.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in configuration management software (GIT, Bit Bucket, JIRA, SVN).
  • Experience in Linux shell scripting.
  • Ability to resolve integration issues in a lab environment.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Information:
  • Occasional evening and/or weekend overtime may be required.
  • Work environment consists of approximately 90% office and 10% laboratory.
