Sr. Advanced E-CAD Specialist
Location: Remote
Pay: $64–$71/hour
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship Required
Overview:
Seeking a Senior Advanced E-CAD Specialist to design and develop printed wiring boards (PWBs) for ruggedized electronics supporting advanced defense and undersea systems. This role involves full lifecycle PCB design, legacy data conversion, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PCB/PWB layouts and schematics using E-CAD tools
- Perform schematic capture, layout design, and constraint management
- Create and verify symbols, footprints, padstacks, and stack-ups
- Conduct impedance modeling and signal integrity analysis
- Convert legacy designs (PDF/Gerber) into native E-CAD formats
- Generate and release design documentation and manufacturing files
- Perform design rule checks (DRC) and resolve layout issues
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and program teams
- Support multiple concurrent projects and meet schedule requirements
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of PCB/E-CAD design experience
- Proficiency with Cadence Capture CIS and Allegro
- Strong knowledge of PCB design standards (IPC, J-STD, MIL-SPEC, ASME, UL, RoHS)
- Experience with mixed-signal, high-speed, RF, power, and high-voltage designs
- Experience with communication protocols: Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, USB, I2C, RS485, SATA
- Strong understanding of fabrication, materials, and assembly processes
- Proficiency with design and manufacturing tools: Gerber, ODB++, CAM350, Valor
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Altium, Xpedition, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Windchill
- Experience with impedance modeling tools (Polar Si9000, Zplanner)
- Experience supporting defense or undersea systems
- Ability to manage multiple designs and support fast-paced environments
- Willingness to support off-shift or flexible hours if needed
