Job Description

We are currently looking for a Model-Based Systems Engineer to support our Combat Vehicle and Naval Guns International Product Lines and assume a leadership role. This role can be on-site or hybrid on-site (50% or more on-site) and will be on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities:
  • Support systems engineering tasks such as requirements development and management, architecture development, interface development, formal decisions and trade studies, and system design development, specialty engineering integration, and verification and validation.
  • Responsible for developing and managing subsystem and component-level performance specifications by managing requirements in a requirements repository.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining requirements traceability in a requirements repository.
  • Develop and maintain requirements verification and compliance and supporting artifacts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate architecture development of the assigned systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Develop and maintain interface requirements and interface design information for assigned sub-systems, systems and components.
  • Coordinate and facilitate formal decisions and trade studies to drive design and document results.
  • Document concept design decisions and support generating System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments.
  • Support the execution and monitoring of cost, schedule, risk, and Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) delivery.
  • Coordinate Systems Engineering (SE) activities within assigned team IPTs and Specialty Engineering POCs to help influence the design.
  • Provide Systems Engineering input to support vehicle-level Systems Engineering activities and program milestone reviews.

Skills Required:
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture (DoDAF).
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Bachelor' s degree in engineering or a closely related field and 4+ years of relevant experience are required.
  • Systems engineering experience performing requirements analysis, derivation, and allocation, and translating requirements to viable concepts and design solutions within applicable constraints.
  • Experience developing architecture concepts and evaluating alternatives.
  • Ability to balance system design considering system usage concept of operations (CONOPS), performance, constraints, and logistics concerns
  • Ability to plan, conduct and document complex trade studies.
  • Ability to generate System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments per the program statement of work (SOW).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Skills Preferred:
  • Experience with military vehicle systems.
  • Logical architecture experience, including the development of use cases.
  • Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including SysML methodology and tools like Cameo.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture (DoDAF).
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tool.
  • Have and maintain INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
  • Leadership and mentoring of younger engineers.

Experience Required:
Lead and facilitate architecture development of the assigned systems, subsystems, and components.

Education Required:
Bachelor' s degree in engineering or a closely related field and 4+ years of relevant experience are required.

Education Preferred:
Bachelor' s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Electrical Engineering with a Master' s degree in Systems Engineering.

This assignment is a US Government Contract which requires all applicants to be US Citizens.
