Structures Engineer
Sterling Heights, MI
$40–$43/hour
Position Overview
Seeking a Structures Engineer to support design and development of hull and turret structures for ground combat vehicles. This role focuses on CAD design, welded assemblies, and full lifecycle hardware development from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop structural components and welded assemblies
  • Create and refine CAD models to meet technical requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system-level design
  • Support drawing release and production readiness
  • Assist manufacturing with fabrication and integration
  • Support testing, verification, and validation activities
  • Perform Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) for hardware issues
  • Ensure designs meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 1–3 years of experience in design and release on vehicle or similar programs

Key Skills
  • CAD modeling (NX, Creo, or similar)
  • Experience with structural design and welded assemblies
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Knowledge of RCCA methodologies
  • Experience with Teamcenter (preferred)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work onsite full-time
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work overtime (~10%) as required
