Structures Systems Manager

Job Description
Our client, a leader in next-generation combat vehicle development, is seeking a Structures Systems Manager to lead the design and development of tracked vehicle hull structures. This role involves overseeing the structural integrity, survivability, and performance of vehicle chassis systems from concept through prototype fabrication and testing.
Essential Functions
- Lead the development of combat vehicle chassis structures based on system-level requirements.
- Manage structural performance analysis, including integrity and response assessments.
- Oversee survivability evaluations against direct and indirect threats.
- Direct the design of structural subsystems such as ramps, hatches, and access panels.
- Present design progress to management and stakeholders.
- Supervise a team of engineers and designers while collaborating cross-functionally.
- Ensure effective communication across teams and external partners.
- Foster collaboration and high-performance teamwork.
- Travel up to 15% as needed.
- Manage a team of 6 engineers and 6 designers.
- Lead an Integrated Product Team with cross-disciplinary support.
- Strong understanding of vehicle structure design and materials used in combat vehicles.
- Experience with vehicle chassis structural analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD-based design systems.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn model-based systems engineering techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in vehicle chassis system design or related fields.
- Must meet company standards for background checks, employment verification, and controlled substance testing.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Experience in developing tracked combat vehicle structures, including survivability and manufacturability elements.
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience is beneficial.
- Primarily office-based with continuous sitting.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Travel up to 15% may be required.
