Heavy Equipment Mechanic (SCA), Stryker Program

About the Role:
Join our Stryker Program team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance checks on the advanced family of "Stryker"military vehicles. This role involves hands-on diagnostics and maintenance for automotive and hydraulic systems, utilizing both manual troubleshooting techniques and built-in test equipment. You’ll work independently and collaboratively, ensuring these complex vehicles meet performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and resolve malfunctions in automotive systems including the engine, transmission, cooling, fuel, exhaust, driveline, and suspension systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance Checks (PMCS): Perform PMCS on various "Stryker"vehicle models, identifying and addressing issues proactively.
  • Component & Sub-System Maintenance: Execute repairs on line replacement units (LRUs), subsystems, and components following technical documentation.
  • Hydraulic Systems: Diagnose and resolve issues specific to "Stryker"hydraulic systems.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete all maintenance, administrative forms, and paperwork related to job duties.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret troubleshooting/diagnostic procedures and system flow diagrams.
  • Computer Skills: Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for maintenance reporting and tracking.
  • Tool Accountability: Maintain accountability for special tools, test equipment, and other property.

Position Requirements:
  • Experience: 1–3 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required;Associate's Degree preferred.
  • US Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Person eligible for military facility access.
  • Communication & Professionalism: Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor suitable for all organizational levels.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to identify and interpret parts through IETM, schematics, and vehicle-specific configurations.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent prioritization and multitasking abilities.
  • Leadership & Teamwork: Effective mentoring, training, and collaboration skills to support team objectives.
  • Knowledge Base: Familiarity with GDLS products, military terminology, and various departmental technologies is preferred.

Technical Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Applications: Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Certifications: Documented trade school, certified technical training, or relevant commercial training required.
  • Security Clearance: Must meet ASR requirements and be eligible to maintain access to military facilities.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work Environment: Flexibility to work in both improved/unimproved facilities and field settings.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to adapt to customer-driven schedule changes.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel domestically (CONUS) and internationally (OCONUS) as required.
