Survivability Manager
Job Description
Location: Troy, MI
Salary Range: $165, 000 - $185, 000
Role Overview:
The Survivability Manager leads efforts to develop and deliver advanced protection systems for the Next Generation Combat Vehicle (NGCV). This role includes integrating armor, active protection, and signature management technologies to ensure crew and vehicle safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead survivability engineering efforts, including armor integration and design optimization.
- Oversee a team of 7+ engineers, providing leadership and guidance.
- Conduct system-level trade studies and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders and support high-profile programs.
- Specify and lead subsystem and system qualification trials.
- Approve technical documents and manage large-scale project budgets.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, Systems, Aerospace, Automotive). Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 10+ years in complex U.S. Defense programs.
- German language skills are required.
- Expertise in survivability technologies, systems engineering, and vehicle principles.
- Familiarity with U.S. DoD processes and Army TACOM/TARDEC.
- Experience with CAx tools (e.G., UG Nx, SolidWorks) and 3D printing.
- Background in supply chain management in regulated industries.
- Preferred:
- Ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
Physical Requirements & Travel:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. Occasionally.
- Travel up to 25%, including occasional international trips.
