Tracked Vehicle Engineering Project Lead

$58–$70/hour
Position Overview
Seeking an Engineering Project Lead to drive design, integration, and delivery of tracked military vehicle systems. This role leads cross-functional engineering teams and is responsible for meeting cost, schedule, and performance goals across full lifecycle development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead system-level design, integration, build, and test activities
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and funding
- Apply Earned Value Management (EVMS) and risk management practices
- Track performance metrics, budgets, and resource planning
- Serve as technical interface for customers and internal stakeholders
- Support RFPs, bids, and proposal efforts
- Manage problem reports, change processes, and corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement and process optimization
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure program success
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related)
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years in defense or engineering programs preferred
Key Skills
- Engineering project/program management
- EVMS, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting
- Experience leading complex system integration efforts
- Strong customer engagement and stakeholder management
- Knowledge of contract scope and technical execution
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification
- Experience with tracked or military vehicle programs
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security clearance
Work Environment
- Onsite –Sterling Heights, MI
