Location: Lansing MI
Shifts: 1st or 2nd shift;Monday- Friday
1st: 6: 00am-2: 30pm*
2nd: 2: 30-11: 00pm*
*Overtime available based on production needs.
Compensation: $19-28+;Negotiable based on skills and experience. Direct Hire position.
Are you a skilled welder looking for new opportunities? We are currently seeking experienced welders to join our client’s team in the aerospace/defense sector in Lansing, MI.
Job Summary:
As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding together metal components of various products using MIG/TIG welding equipment. From steel bars to aluminum details, you'll work on a variety of projects, ensuring precision and quality in every weld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare welding equipment and electrodes for use
- Set up welding unit and adjust parameters as needed
- Initiate welding process to join metal components securely
- Guide welding tool manually along weld lines with precision
- Perform welding in various positions to meet project requirements
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards
- Apply filler metal manually to reinforce welds when necessary
- Clean and prepare welding surfaces thoroughly
- Conduct repairs on damaged parts and fill holes effectively
- Position and clamp workpieces securely for welding
- Perform tack welding to align assemblies accurately
- 1-3 years of related welding experience
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Familiarity with AS9100 and IS14001 standards is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Comfortable standing, walking, and using hands for extended periods
